The journalist working for Sham FM Radio and was a correspondent for Al-Watan newspaper was killed while reporting on clashes between the Syrian army and rebels in the Jobar area, east of Damascus, state media and a monitoring group were quoted as saying.

A statement by Sham FM said that al-Ajlani was wounded by shrapnel of a mortar shell fired and he died of his wounds.
