The Dutch photographer was killed by snipe fire after being shot in the chest while covering clashes in the Libyan coastal city of Sirte between the so - called Islamic State( IS) and government forces.

According to media reports, the photographer was working for a number of organisations, including the Belgian weekly Knack magazine.
