The photojournalist for Nineveh Media Network in Mosul, the capital of Nineveh province in northern Iraq, was shot dead by the so-called Islamic State on charges of spying.

The father of two worked who worked as a cameraman for Al Mosuliya TV before joining Nineveh Media Network as a photojournalis had been abducted from his home on 4 June by the IS, according to the Iraqi Journalists' Syndicate (IJS), an IFJ affiliate.
