The IFJ’s affiliate, the Yemen Journalists’ Syndicate (YJS), on Monday launched a report on press freedom violations in the country the first half of 2015 . The launch , which took place at the union’s premises in the capital, Sanaa, was attended by several union members, media outlets and rights’ organisations. The report’s findings confirmed the drastic deterioration of the media freedom environment, leading the union to say that the situation is “ extremely serious and this level of attacks against the press has not been seen in 25 years.”
