On 16 April, Radio Télé Inurep journalist Dumesky Kersaint was shot dead in Carrefour, a largely residential commune in the Port-au-Prince. Kersaint was shot dead while reporting on an assassination in the Carrefour's commune. The assailants reportedly asked him to delete photos of the crime. The journalist refused. The assailants opened fire in response to his refusal. The journalist died before he could be taken to hospital.
