Désiré Sayenga and René Padou

According to media sources in the Central African Republic (CAR), the two journalists were attacked and critically shot and stabbed by armed youths on 29 April.

Désire Sayengan, who worked for Le Démocrate newspaper died of his injuries the following day on 30 April while his colleague René Padou, a radio journalist from La Voix de la Grâce station passed away on 5 May.
