The female photographer for Associated Press was gunned down at a police station in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Khost, according to the statement by the news agency.

Anja, a German national, was shot by a police commander who opened fire at the car in which Anja was travelling with another female, Khathy Gannon, a Canadian reporter, media reports said quoting police and government’s sources. Khathy was also injured in the attack and needed medical treatment. The police commander reportedly surrendered t the aothorities after the incident and was arrested.
