The journalist who worked for Radio Mustaqbal, a Mogadishu-based private station killed when an explosive device ripped through his vehicle at Eel Gaab junction in Hamarweyne District in Mogadishu, according to the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ).

The IFJ affiliate quoted witnesses as saying that the device exploded with a loud bang leaving behind a completely devastated vehicle. Police who immediately reached the spot were unable to put the fire out.

A colleague reportedly said that the device had been attached to Keynan’s car and described the attack as murder targeting the journalist.
