Promoting Labour Rights, Gender Equality and Freedom of Association in Pakistan’s Media
This project is led by the International Federation of Journalists in partnership with the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), the Women's Media Forum Pakistan (WMFP), and collection of regional trade unions and media collectives. The project continues the IFJ's work to strengthen the capacity of the media and its collectives to defend professional and labour rights, as well as promote and defend the participation of women in media unions, press clubs, and support efforts for gender equality in Pakistan's media.
This wide-reaching project is designed to strengthen the capacity of media civil society organisations to instigate and lead sustainable change development in Malaysia. Journalists and media organisations will be supported to take a strategic role in promoting and advancing a strong, independent and diverse media in Malaysia.
Union leadership, capacity building and gender equality are a key focus of the South Asia Media Solidarity Programme, which works to enhance conditions for free and pluralistic reporting in the South Asia region. This project is funded by NJ and Unesco/IPDC.
