Sánchez Sarmiento, a presenter of the main news programme at a local station located in the state of Oaxaca, was shot at least seven times outside the station's studios. On the same day, another Mexican journalist Juan Mendoza Delgado from the state of Velacruz, was found dead. The authorities indicated that the victim might have been run over but his body showed no bruises to sustain the claim.
