The journalist for Vesti newspaper died of wounds he sustained in attack allegedly by the” tityshki” , a group of youths who have been accused of working in collusion with security forces in Ukraine, according to the Independent Media Trade Union of Ukraine, an IFJ affiliate.
The Union said that Veremii was shot and fatally wounded in the stomach. He was admitted to hospital where he later died.
