The 54-year-old broadcaster for Digos City radio was shot dead along Del Pilar Street in Dig City. The NUJP said that Oliverio was on his way home when two gunmen who did not even bother to cover their faces shot him.
Colleagues in Digos said that the journalist was known for his scathing commentary on local politics and that he used to express strong views on his programme against the proliferation of illegal gambling and drugs in the city.
