The senior journalist for the Pratidin group and vice president of the Tinsukia District Journalists’ Association (TDJA), was fatally injured when a vehicle struck him and a fellow journalist from behind, while walking on a highway near his home in Assam province. Bhuyan was flung 15 feet, suffering severe head injuries and died in a nursing home the following day.
